Toll Gate House is in the County of Powys, Wales, a region famous for the Brecon Beacons, unspoilt countryside and attractive market towns.

Welshpool nestles into the upper reaches of the picturesque Severn Valley near the border between Wales and England. The bustling Market Town is surrounded by the rolling hills of Montgomeryshire  Traditionally an agricultural service centre, Welshpool possesses the largest sheep market in Europe and the feeling of a traditional hard working market town still remains today.

Hay-on-Wye is the northernmost point of Brecon Beacons National Park and stands on the southern side of the River Wye.  The town has become world famous for its secondhand and antiquarian bookshops.

Machynlleth,  a busy market town,  once the rebel capital of Wales and today a strong magnet for alternative thinking.  Just outside the town is one of Wales’ newest and most popular attractions; the Centre for Alternative Technology.
